It describes one women's experiences growing up in a household where her father had a same sex attraction and practiced homosexual acts.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7899696.post-26663293728773323552008-12-29T16:31:00.000-08:002008-12-29T16:31:00.000-08:00Sometimes the truth can be offensive initially. In ...Sometimes the truth can be offensive initially.

In her book Children as Trophies? European sociologist Patricia Morgan reviews 144 published studies on same-sex parenting and concludes that it fosters homosexual behaviour, confused gender roles, and increased likelihood of serious psychological problems later in life.Link

This is not to say that everyone raised in a same sex relationship household will develop these problems.

The research I have come across overwhelmingly suggests that male and female biological parents are the surest way. Anything different and the probability of encountering difficulties increases.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7899696.post-73307643175659586632008-12-18T17:05:00.000-08:002008-12-18T17:05:00.000-08:00UnbelievableWow, I've never even met you, and some...Unbelievable

Wow, I've never even met you, and some how you've just offended me with this story. But that's okay, because I understand that everyone has their own opinion. But just to make the assumptions you did, make you seem a lot like a bigot. I have a jewish teacher, and she's a lesbian. She's been with her partner for many years, and they have 3 happy children. You can't just assume that children growing up in a same-sex marriage household are going to be affected. I know a lot of children with 2 moms, or 2 dads, and they grew up perfectly fine, and they still learned everything they needed to learn in life. It's not a very smart thing to just assume things when you don't have all the accurate facts.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7899696.post-60703870219561605922008-12-12T11:16:00.000-08:002008-12-12T11:16:00.000-08:00I've added a link to your post from BlogWatch Prop...I've added a link to your post from BlogWatch Prop 8 ChallengeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7899696.post-38209298517015907232008-12-12T04:30:00.000-08:002008-12-12T04:30:00.000-08:00Good post. The state has a vested interest in marri...Good post.

The state has a vested interest in marriage and family because it is a cell of society. Same-sex pairs cannot benefit the whole of the nation by bearing the next generation.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7899696.post-51354899058469998382008-12-11T17:09:00.000-08:002008-12-11T17:09:00.000-08:00Wow David,We must have very different Jewish backg...Wow David,

We must have very different Jewish backgrounds. I attended Cleveland's Fairmount Temple as a youth. Our Rabbi, Rabbi Lelyveld was active in the civil rights movement. He rode with the freedom riders and was dragged from a bus and beaten. Our temple always stood for, not against struggles for social justice.

In 2005, the temple welcomed Chevrei Tikva Chavurah, a sister GLBT synagogue which marries same sex spouses. Fairmount temple, to my recollection, never taught Masechet Hullin, but it did teach the story of the special love between Jonathan and David.

Please follow the links referenced by the URL I posted and see what is really happening in the Jewish world. You may also want to refresh you memory on Jewish support for marriage equality. There was a recent ruling that Conservative synagogues may decide for themselves whether or not to bless same-sex marriages.

I don't follow your claims about monogamy. My husband and I founded Equality Loudoun and we know many, many same sex couples in our county and in neighboring counties. I am not aware of a single open marriage among them, and we are pretty close.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
